What to Expect at Your Boudoir Session

If you've been thinking about booking a boudoir session but aren't quite sure what it actually looks like, you're not alone. It's one of the questions I get asked the most and honestly, it's usually followed by, "I don't really know how to pose though." Good news: you don't have to.

Here's a real look at what a session with me looks like from start to finish.

Before Your Session

We'll hop on a quick call or email chain to talk through your vision. Some clients want soft and romantic, others want bold and edgy, there's no wrong answer. We'll also talk wardrobe. I always recommend bringing a few options: something you feel confident in, something a little out of your comfort zone, and one "just because I love it" piece. Lingerie, an oversized button-down, a swimsuit — whatever makes you feel like you.

Day of Your Session

You'll arrive at the studio to a relaxed, private space, just us and good music. If you've booked hair and makeup, that happens first, and honestly, it's a great way to ease into the day and get in the mindset. From there, we start shooting.

I direct every single pose. You will never be left standing there wondering what to do with your hands, I promise. We move at your pace, and if something feels outside your comfort zone, we simply don't do it. This is your session, and the goal is for you to leave feeling more confident than when you walked in, not less.

After Your Session

Your images go through a full editing process, and your gallery is delivered privately and securely, password protected, just for you. From there, it's completely up to you what you do with them: keep them for yourself, put together an album, or gift them to someone special.

A Few Tips

  • Hydrate the days leading up to your session — it genuinely helps with how your skin photographs.

  • Don't stress about "getting in shape" first. These sessions are about celebrating your body as it is right now, not a future version of it.

  • Bring a robe and slides for easy outfit changes.

  • Trust the process. Nearly every client tells me they were nervous walking in and couldn't believe how comfortable they felt by the second outfit.
